The U14 boys took to the a very foggy pitch at Surbiton in the late afternoon. Visibility became very poor towards the end and it was surprising the match lasted the full distance! The parents on the side lines certainly had difficulty fallowing the play!

A good all round performance against a strong Surbiton side. The match was end to end and evenly poised in the first half until the first Surbiton goal went in around the 20 minute mark. That seemed to lift the home team and set our boys back a bit. Still it was good to hear them saying at half-time that they still felt they could win. Unfortunately, the goal we needed and deserved didn’t arrive and it was Surbiton who scored instead. Tackling was greatly improved (well done to all but Aiden in particular who had a great game, never seeming to stop running and putting in some great last minute tackles to break up the opposite attacks and stop goal bound shots.)

We had a number of chances to score, particularly towards the end of the game but the final ball never quite went to the right player or a last ditch tackle prevented us from shooting.
