1st match was against Staines.

At the start of the first half, our boys struggled to get into shape and a few minutes in, Staines took advantage, broke quickly through our defence and the ball hit the back of the Cheam net. Cheam rallied and started to defend well and held Staines back for the rest of the first half but struggled to make our strikes at the Staines goal hit the target. At halftime Frosty delivered a motivational team talk. Tactics were discussed and agreed and the Cheam boys were back on hungry for goals. The boys found their form, passed well and were soon making the runs through the Staines defence. The strikes at goal were getting more accurate and by the final whistle it was 1-3 Cheam win. 2nd match was against Dragons ‘A’.

Cheam started well, confident from the last games scoreline. It was an even paced match with play in both halves, and the opposition were a strong side. Cheam boys passed well through the Dragons defence and Loic was able to strike successfully at goal. 0-1 Cheam. The Dragons were a good match for us and kept our goalkeeper busy who in turn did some good saves.
At half time tactics were discussed to tighten up the defence and try and get more goals. The Cheam boys went back on determined to keep pushing forward. However, The Dragons broke through again and our Goalkeeper came out to meet them, challenged and blocked the shot. Goalkeeper kicked the ball away, however another Dragon managed to get a stick to it, passed to another who shot it across into the bottom corner unfortunately out of our Goalkeepers reach. 1-1. During the second half, both teams battled and had missed opportunities. Our midfield and strikers worked hard and were playing well together, passing through the Dragons. We had strikes at goal but were unlucky in just slightly missing the target, and the Dragons gave our defence and goalkeeper plenty of practise with their attacking strikes. Final score 1-1. 3rd match was against Dragons ‘B’.

By now the Cheam boys were fully warmed up and firing on all cylinders .Cheam were by far the stronger side in this match and dominated the first half. The second half was much the same, Cheam worked well together finding space, passing and striking accurately at goal. Final score 15-0. Goal scorers; Anthony, Loic, Dan, Luke.
