Cheam L3s 2 - 4 Mitcham L4s

Cheam Ladies 3s were keen to repeat the previous week's victory and we started the game taking no prisoners. The Fowards and Midfielders drove the ball into the opposition 'D' and we spent the next 10 minutes of the game, hammering the opposition's Defense. If only we'd been able to break through their defenses.

Mitcham managed a sneaky break away and finally the Defenders got a chance to show why they'd made the long journey. A couple of strategically placed feet and the opposition were awarded with a penalty corner, which they put to good use and scored their first goal.
We continued our attack on goal, still not managing to put the ball into the box. Mitcham again got lucky in another rare run up the field again the defenders strategically placed their feet which led to the first (and we hope last) penalty flick of the season.
Keeper Doak, showed us what she's been doing in her spare time, by making the save look rather easy. No goal from the penalty flick, but the following penalty corner didn't leave us as fortunate. The half time whistle blew leaving Cheam 2 goals down.

After a half time chat, and showing everyone the map to the opposition goal, we started the second half. Louise, knowing she was off to university for a few months, and wanting to leave her mark, scored first. Finally, Cheam was on the scoreboard. Mitcham, scored again bringing the score to 1-3.

Olivia scored, although she did ask the umpire if it really was a goal because she wasn't so sure it went over the line. Tris quickly put her right, and the scoreline read 2-3. Things were looking promising.
Unfortunately just before the final whistle blew, Mitcham scored again and the match ended on score of 2-4.
