And so it begins...

So it has begun, the 2018/19 season,
And we were full of excitement for a very good reason.
Tiri made some cupcakes, which were really quite good,
We thought it would inspire a win, we knew it could.

Some newbies have joined, they couldn’t wait to get started
The 2s is a great team, we keep it lighthearted.

Rachel and Liv met Gill and Maloney,
A new backline was formed, commanded by Toni.
A ball to the foot stopped Liv for a bit,
But with no subs on the bench she refused to give up and quit.

Emma Naergar was back, sporting a big diamond rock,
And Erin smashed it home shortly after one o’clock.
Eloise and Izzy ran their socks off today,
An excellent performance, they’re here to stay.

The forwards were our usual, Tiri and Jules
They spent a lot of the game running like fools.
Tiri hit the post, Jules hit the goalie,
Between them they scored none, they like to start slowly.

It was a game of mishaps, not least our poor keeper,
Toni’s quad gave up working, we resorted to our sweeper.
Gill became kicking back and started to shout,
She also tried to umpire, but Charlie sorted her out.

Rachel got mad and elbowed the opposition
They’d scored a few goals and she was on a mission.
Up the pitch we went, but sadly to no avail,
This week wasn’t ours, it was a bit of a fail.

Liv dressed as a banana for D of the Day,
Thanks for coming, as we like to say.
Erin was voted as (wo)man of the game,
A well deserved accolade, you were best with your aim!

The season's just started and we’re ready for the next match,
Bring on Woking, they’ll wish we never entered their patch.
We have high hopes for this team this year,
We did good things today, and drowned our sorrows with a beer!
