I hope you are having a very enjoyable summer. We approach the start of the 2025/26 hockey season so wanted to send some information to help you understand how the season is looking for our junior members.

Membership and WhatsApp updates
• Please make sure details for both you and your child are correct and up to date on Pitchero.
• Comms are predominantly done on WhatsApp. Please make sure you join the appropriate team groups for the season. These can be accessed through the community

Dates for the season
• First session of the season - Sunday 31st August 2025 at Nonsuch High School
• Midweek training sessions will provisionally start on Wednesday 17th September 2025

Sunday Training Times
All Sunday training sessions will take place at Nonsuch High School for Girls. Age groups are based on age on 1st September 2025. The appropriate school year is shown below from September.

Clothing
• Cheam Sports in Cheam Village supplies all Junior Hockey Kit and has a fantastic selection of equipment as well.
• If you want to try on kit and order to arrive before the start of the season please ensure your order is placed in the shop by 15th August 2025.
• Please note the shop is closed until 5th August 2025.
• Don’t worry if you don’t make this date – regular orders will be put in but recommend getting to the shop if you need new kit!

Gumshields
• We’ve partnered with OPRO to offer Club branded gumshields! If you are looking for a new gumshield then you can get it club branded if you so wish together with a discount! Use this link with discount code CheamHC10 - https://www.opro.com/search?q=cheam+hockey+club. The discount code works on all gumshields on the site if you didn’t want a bespoke gumshield.

Subscriptions
• Subscriptions are due by 31st October 2025 and payable through the club shop on the website. Full details will be given in the newsletter during August 2025

Help Please!
• We have a number of roles that don’t require hockey experience but sharing workload could really help people out. If you could help in any way, please do get in touch with Keith (cheamhcjuniors@gmail.com) as be keen to speak to you! The following roles are vacant; Finance co Ordinator, umpire co ordinator, team managers.
• Likewise having assistant coaches at each age group makes a huge difference in helping at sessions and ultimately makes training more fun and beneficial for the juniors. If you think you can help one of the coaches please let Keith know as well. Hockey experience would be great but not essential – just helping set up drills and support the coaches with enthusiasm is the aim!
