Spencer Scorpion U16 0 - 4 Cheam Cheetahs U16

Cheam Power Display keeps Spencer at Bay...
The Cheetahs continued their recent form with a powerful mix of strong driving and good passing to beat Spencers convincingly. Playing without a GK, Cheam managed to press Spencer back into their own half for much of the game, restricting the opposition to a handful of chances. The territorial advantage wasn't rewarded until midway through the first half when the prolific Charlotte Windett netted the first from close range. The strong driving was lead by Megan Lewis, supported by Laura Sallabank, Annie Pearson and Daria Ditri. There was also good defence of Spencer attacks, with Grace Ryan showing the form she has all season by breaking play and launching counter attacks down the Cheam right.
Half-time saw only a 1-0 lead despite a number of Short Corners and 75% of the ball. The second half saw a similar pattern, however Spencer started to move forward more and looked much more dangerous. It was a relief when a great move by Cheam down their right saw the shot rebound off the keeper, followed up by Mariam Dar and Anya Losyk, with the latter claiming the final touch. At 2-0 Cheam's lead was more comfortable and play became more expansive. In the final 10 Cheam increased their lead through Olivia Snadden-Ridout's long range effort and the final action of the game seeing Charlotte netting a deserved second.
Cheam approach their final match of the season with great confidence, and hope to finish in style.
