Cheam Mens 1s 3 - 2 OCs Mens 2s

Struggling to fill the 11 positions on the pitch, the men's section stepped up and the Men's 1s managed to have an appropriate 13 on the day.

Cheam took a welcome lead in the first half, going into the second half with a 2 goal to nil lead. This was accomplished by a fantastic far post finish courtesy of Higgo. And a scrap between Shags and Higgo from a sort corner, yes won by Willy. Higgo got the last touch.

I the second half, the Cheam group, not wanting to dissapoint, stepped back and let in 2 goals for the oppo.
Luckily Willy was on hand to mesmerise the defence in the attacking D and let Will Gault take his first goal of the season - Well Done Flea!

Thus ending the game 3-2 in favour of the good guys (us).

Some memorable moments from Willy's great memory:

Will Gunn deciding to re-grip his stick 5 minutes before warmup and then realising that he had never done it before.
Will Gunn asking if anyone knew how to re-grip a hockey stick.
Will Gunn being saved by Koen, re-gripping his stick.
Will Gunn mentioning that he wasn't going to tackle, to avoid the monetary penalty in case he received a card.
Will Gunn tackling and getting a green card.
Will Gunn being blowen up again for a bad tackle after he returned to field of play.
Will Gunn muttering to himself that he must learn how to tackle.
Will Gunn narrowly missing DOD for his card and tackles.

Oh, and Blossom for outstanding work in goals and Harry (Babz) for his outstanding haircut (DOD).
And Bolly making a horrendous from the floor tackle to take out the oppo and earn himself a yellow. KUDOS
