Shags clinches DOD amongst vote rigging scandal

Saturday saw a 9AM meet time at Nonsuch and the customary message from Gunners about running a few minutes late. He should be there by 9:30, he says...Early DOD contender already.
The team arrived in dribs and drabs, a theme epitomiside by Shags as he proceeded to tuck his tracky bottoms into his socks. This along with his school boy, youthful looks and stature reminded me of Oliver! Please sir! can we not play that Saffa?
While Bolly rallied early secret support for Shags to be DoD, the rest of the team had a rather vigorous warmup.

In fact most of the team wondered why Coach was taking his frustrations out on us. The exercise was too much for some member of the team. Willy had reached for some pre-match Deepheat already and Koen had pulled a calf (third early contender for D0D). Well done coach.

Whilst Cheam were huddled together trying to find out who was playing were, looking around longing for some leadership from coach, he was spotted having a laugh with the oppo! And then, to everyone's (mostly mine) utter disbelief, he handed said oppo the JDH! Willy stood aghast (that's me). The stick that had become an extension of my body, ney my mind, had been put into the clutches of Wade of the clan oppo!

Needless to say the first 10 minutes of the game was spent playing through floods of tears and a deep pit in the stomach.

For once at the first whistle, Cheam actually took the game to the oppo. Some sustained good passing and good running off the ball meant the first passage of play was definitely ours. Then we conceded.
Then we conceded again.
And again.
And

As coach said before the game, guys don't focus on the score. We didn't.
Okay so since I am writing this I thought the score line flattered Epsom 2s. They had a couple of decent players and we lacked the capabilities to capitalise on our chances.

We did however give our all. Effort was high on the field, but it wasn't our day. We had good passages of play with Tanners, Duncs and Matt Mabin putting in great efforts.

We look forward to the return leg for another run at them!

Oh and Shags, I don't know how to do the oppo goals, so I'll leave that to you...
