Leaving things late

Some people were late, namely: Madders, Will G, Jimmy G and Bolly. They suck. The rest of us where on time and had a good warm up. We managed to carry those four for the first half. And when I say we, I mean me. We started well and put OGs under serious pressure with a press as heavy handed as a police officer in Ferguson.
Shags crept into the 5m area (not really) and we suffered a short corner.
Willy then missed the slip right at the shorty and a late deflection saw OGs first goal.
At 1-0 down, an awesome piece of open play saw Higgo break into the OGs D and absolutely leather the ball. The ball struck the post with the fury of a thousand Koen's being sent off the field. The ball fell to Hans but unfortunately he was already celebrating a goal. He recovered to flick the ball goalwards but it was stopped through foul play. We expected a flick but only a shortie was awarded.
Just before the half time whistle the ump missed a massive obstruction on Stumples, but unfortunately they didn't miss the ball hitting the backboard.
0-2 Half time.We were frustrated at having had the better play but being hit with two lucky breaks for OGs.
I am getting bored.
Willy got frustrated and picked up a cheeky yellow card for a Koenesque tackle. While he was off the team improved dramatically and Smeags scored a fantastic goal after beating 2/3 players and putting it in the net.
We were chasing the equaliser. Chances came and went and time was ticking. Will G won a short corner with a deft piece of skill to give us the last play of the game. Shortie to Cheam. Injected well, stopped perfectly, dragged towards goal.
And then it happened. Time stood still, and on the sidelines, an old crone shed a single tear. Shags slid in, fully outstretched, putting it all on the line for his teammates. He is a real hero and I think he is great. He got the crucial deflection and we had equalised with the last touch of the game. OGs were broken, Cheam were jubilant, and we went and ate, drank and were merry.

In a show of jealousy from the team, Shags was unjustly awarded DOTD. Just because he put it* on the table!

* We cannot say what it is, for legal reasons - but it was glorious.
