M3s Register Monster Win

Having dropped our first points of the season late on against OGs last week, the Tweed heroes were keen to make amends on home turf against an unknown quantity in Addiscombe.

The 24 hours before the game were rather traumatic, with Mike Brown (having a baby), Mario (food poisoning) and Gary Allen (selling houses) all becoming unavailable. This was in addition to other absentees Ted, Brandi, Gary Morley and Bender. Intense negotiations convinced #Garyallen to bin off work for two hours to play hockey instead, giving us a bare 11.

With the sun streaming down in SM2, there was a patched up feel to our starting XI this week. We need not have worried though, as Addiscombe arrived looking sheepish and offered up a, frankly, embarrassingly poor level of opposition.

The game was over after 15 minutes, with Goalman nailing an early hat-trick. With the score 8-0 at half time, it was starting to feel a little bit awkward for everyone involved, rather like punching a puppy repeatedly in the face. With the job done, #Garyallen left just after half time to return to work, leaving 10 of us to see out the second half.

The forward line decided to spend the second half trying to nail the ball into the top corner from the top of the D, and found the Addiscombe keeper in sparkling form. With a few minutes to go, and the score at 9-0, Evan got bored of watching the forwards squanding short corners, and decided to have a go himself. He duly found the backboard, proving that the defenders in this team really are just attackers who can't run anymore.

Not much else to say really. All rather dull. Looking forward to a tough encounter at Bank of England next week.
