Oxted Outlaws vs Cheam 3s - Jonny Eales Special
So a winning start to Div 2 for the 3s with Guildford's youngsters given a ruthlessly harsh lesson in adult hockey. Saturday brings the long(ish) trip to glamorous Oxted. The only thing I know about Oxted is that Badger teaches RE at one of the schools there. Ask him about it, that guy really loves teaching RE.
So Jonny suffered a bady split lip on training. It happened. I cried, a lot. Time for a new hero this week until his return...
To ease the pain I've decided to list five amazing things that Jonny has done recently - then I'll move on, maybe.
1) Won Young Player of the Season 14/15
2) Scored in pre-season with a reverse shot
3) Made me look good last week with some actual defending
4) Casually dropped a C-Bomb in training, just because he's gangster
5) Made Mozambique officially mine-free after two decades of internal and political struggle (NB - this may or may not be true. I'm just assuming Jonny was instrumental at some point).
What should we expect this week?
No idea. I know where Oxted is - well, my SatNav does. They play hockey, probably quite well. I'm not too sure about the rest to be honest. Saturday will be educational, and not just because of Badger's soft-GCSE course teaching.
Who's going to have a big game?
James Morris. Set to be unleashed in the centre of midfield this week after terrorising the right wing last week. I expect big things, a lot of attacking short corners.
Saturday is coming. See you all there.
PS Chris Blackmore and James Mantle, add yourselves to the 3s squad on the website please!
