Senior Hockey Key Information and FAQs - 2023/24 Season

All the information you need for the upcoming season!

The news article that has it all - training times, captains, membership costs and more! Make sure to read through so you're ready for the upcoming season.

Training Times
Joe Oddy, our Director of Hockey, oversees all of our training with the help of a number of coaches. If you have any training specific questions, please contact him via the website or chat to him after a session!

Ladies training takes place on Monday nights from 20:00-22:00 at Nonsuch High School for Girls, Cheam (SM3 8AB). The first training session of the season is on Tuesday 29th August (due to the Bank Holiday) before returning to Monday every week thereafter.

Men's training takes place on Wednesday nights from 20:00-22:00, also at Nonsuch High School. The first training session of the season is on Wednesday 30th August.

Please look out for communication from your Captains for any specific timings within this.

L1 - London Women's Division 2 South
L2 - London Women's Division 4 South West
L3 - London Women's Division 6 South West
M1 - London Men's Division 3 South
M2 - London Men's Division 5 South West
M3 - South East Men's Division 6 Oaks

First league matches are on Saturday 23rd September - please make sure you update your availability for the first few weeks of the season at least. There are also a number of preseason friendlies coming up before this.

We have the following offers:

  • New member discount: 25% across the board (figures seen in table above)
  • Referral discount: 25% across the board
  • Uni Students and young adults covered under the same membership (uni students returning for holidays/playing ad hoc games will still be allowed to purchase a social membership to cover them for 3 games max)
  • Family discounts: First (most expensive member) pays full rate, each member after that receives a 20% discount

Club Policies
Before buying your membership for the season, you will be asked to confirm that you have read the Players Code of Conduct and that you agree to uphold it. This can be found attached at the end of the article, along with a number of other important Club Policies. Please do take the time to read these through.

If you wish to take photographs or record video at matches, please contact our Welfare Officer, Victoria Power, via the Contact section of the website. Our photography policy can also be found in the attached documents.

We are happy to announce that we will be introducing our new playing top for the 2023/24 season. Information on this will be communicated via the Whatsapp groups shortly.

New members of all abilities are always welcome at Cheam Hockey! Please get in touch with the Ladies or Men's Section Captain, or the Junior Coordinator if you are interested and we will be happy to provide more information.
