Welcome to the 2019-20 hockey season and Cheam Hockey Club’s 99th year of existence.

So far, I have to say, it has been a really great start to the hockey year, the enthusiasm if through the roof and we have a group of amazing volunteers helping to make this a great season for Cheam. The social calendar is filling up nicely with the Autumn Social planned for this Saturday 28th September 7pm at the club. Halloween and Christmas are already booked in a keep a lookout for tickets going on sale for them very soon. Big thank you to Tay-Tay and Laura (nickname pending) for all their hard work on the socials, and if you want any details of what’s planned please don’t hesitate to ask them

The first order for the new kit has be put in and it looks amazing. Oddy has done a stellar job looking after that and I think we’ll all look amazing when it arrives. If you haven’t ordered yours yet you can do so on the club website (www.cheamhockeyclub.co.uk), get your orders in and as soon as we have enough to get the next batch ordered we’ll let you know.

If you haven’t already, please sign up to ‘easyfundraising’ and encourage your friend to as well. It costs you nothing, but any online shopping you do can earn the club money for nothing. Please again have a look on the website the link is at the top of each page.

One final point for now, the finances of the club are quite delicate at the moment but by no means a disaster. We have asked that each captain please try and get match fees to the club preferably every 2-weeks at the absolute latest the end of each month. I would ask all of you to help them with this task by getting your subs paid as soon as possible and making sure you bring your money on match days. If anyone has any sort of problem with paying, please do not leave it, come and see one of the Executive Members and we’ll do our best to make sure an agreement is sorted that means both you and us can enjoy the hockey.
