Cheam Girls Colts U14

Report: This was a difficult game as unfortunately we lost a number of girls to a skiing trip and half term holidays. But thanks to the U12 girls who stepped in and made this game happen. Good experience for next season especially Rebecca in goal who made some fine saves. Stirling work by Lydia in defence but on the day Reigate were the better team. It was only 1-0 at half time and most of their goals came in the last quarter, so we most keep going until the final whistle.
Anyway well tried girls and let's put this one behind us and look forward to the next game.

Report: What a wonderful position to be in. All girls were available and keen to play today. However this was a match we could have won. With a little bit more aggression we would defintely have got onto the score sheet.
We played 4 quarters to give all girls as much pitch time as possible. Again there was some good passing and tackling and we looked very good in patches. Well done to Jo in goal.....some fine saves again.....We still have a number of matches to go and I know we will get back to winning ways again.

Report: Another good performance. We are beginning to show what we can achieve and are improving each week. Solid defence with some fine saves by Jo. Good passing and running to space in the midfield, with some excellent finishing by Esther for a well earned hatrick and Sophie for her goal.

Thanks to Xenia and Sidonie for helping out and playing a half each for Surbiton.

Report: Another glorious day and another glorious match! We played 4 quarters and played some of our best hockey this season. The 1st quarter was by far our best with some great passing and running to space. This resulted in our first goal scored by Esther. We continued to pressure and Antonia scored our second goal. The next 2 quarters were fairly even. We stepped up a gear in the last quarter as did Epsom, who scored their goal after some pressure. An unfortunate deflection but deserved by them. This made for an exciting finish and we held strong.
Well done again girls........:)

Report: We arrived at Staines on a beautiful sunny morning, I think a little nervous as some of the comments were...... Wow ther're big and they have a large squad!! We played 4 periods of 15 minutes and virtually from the start the girls settled into the game. They had all listened to Barry and started to believe that we can play. Everyone did at least one good thing and the team spirit for the first game was excellent. The passing, dribbling and tackling was something to be proud of. We were very close to scoring and on the day Staines just had the edge on us. Well done to them!! It was an excellent game with great committment by both teams. But girls as tired as you were at the end, you should be really proud of yourselves. Thanks to all for the support and lifts and I'm pleased so many of you enjoyed the match. Roll on the next match and girls keep training hard.....results will come:)
