Preview of the 2nd half of the season with the 3's SMT

The Christmas break is almost over (thank god), so it's time to preview the second half of the season for the Men's 3s.

Lets meet the Senior Management Team, Goalman and Dom...

How would you rate the team’s performance in the first half of the season?

Goalman: So far I've been amazed. We've had a couple of games with just 11 players on the day, and some where we've needed to call on junior members from the club. We've rarely had our strongest team out so to be where we are speaks highly of everyone who has played for us.

Dom: It took a few games for us to click through the gears but by the last few matches we were playing some excellent hockey all over the pitch, rather than simply overpowering teams up front. Just a shame to lose our unbeaten run the way we did.

Do any players deserve a special mention? Who’s going to be big in 2016?

G: Jonny continues to excel in defence. Morris is adapting well to a more attacking central role. Brandi adds a great dimension in midfield after a stint away from the game. Then we've had 2 great additions with the two Chris'.

D: 2016 will be big for Jonny, whether he is in the 2s or the 3s. If Shepwolf steps down to replace our hero long term, then 2016 could be big for him, both on and off the pitch.

Is anyone going to get a kick up the arse?

G: With new players joining the club and young players improving every week there are very few places that aren't up for grabs. People need to be wary that we have a great pool of players to pick from.

D: Controversially, I want more from Fisty. He's had an excellent first half of the season, but he should be targeting at least 10 goals minimum before it ends. Also the Keddie Fiddler should be challenged to command a starting position.

Best moment of the season so far?

G: Our 4 game streak into Christmas, scoring 15 without conceding.

D: The 3-0 win over Surbiton was a complete performance against very decent opposition.

And the worst?

G: The last goal we conceded in the game against Bank of England. A short corner given for a foot that was at least 2 yards outside the 'D'.

D: Wonderland

Looking forward to any return fixture in particular?

G: I'm looking forward to playing Bank of England at home. Will be interesting to see what team turns up that day.

D: Keen for 3 points against Bank and OGs. Also Goan promised us plenty of beers post-match when they host us in late January.

Who is getting promoted with us?

G: Who's to say we're getting promoted? We're only at the halfway point, a couple of injuries or bad/biased umpires and we could find ourselves slipping down the table.

D: If we go up, then we're taking Wanderers with us (and Surbiton after the inevitable league re-shuffle).

Anything to say about Teas?

G: I like peppermint and green the best.

D: What are Teas?

Any predictions for Andy ‘the Cheetah’ Hart’s squared circle debut? Lots of money is changing hands on an early KO…

G: No idea which way it'll go, but expect early drama. Let's just hope he's better at boxing than he is at hockey.

D: I'm backing the Cheetah for a comprehensive victory on points.

Is the on-going Brandi / Bender living arrangement sustainable? What is likely to be the final straw in this homo-erotic nightmare?

G: Since they moved in together Bender has struggled to walk. I'm not sure if the two things are connected but there's no smoke without fire. Who's to say what the future holds for these two, but maybe there's a happy ending in sight.

D: I give it another 6 months before they run out of bed sheets fit for human use.

Is the criticism Blossom is getting for the pre-match posters fair?

G: I think people should be more focused on the game, rather than anything that may or may not happen before or after the game.

D: He set the bar ridiculously high last year, but needs to man-up and produce the goods in 2016

Any chance of a CHC vs PRC social in 2016? Who would come out on top?

G: Why not, we are the most sociable team in the club so I'm sure it'll happen at some point. I wouldn't like to predict a winner, just know that there would be some ecstatic bar owners out there,

D: Can 'runners' drink?

Any further words for opposition Captains visiting this page?

G: Best of luck in the second half of the season.

D: Cheese platters are a decent option for post match teas.

Finally, if you had to decide on Captaincy next season right now, would you? If not, who would you like to hand the baton over to?

G: I wouldn't like to decide right now, I'm still getting to grips with some of the finer points, winning games is easy, but I struggle with tasks such as ordering food. I think there's a few candidates for the next captain, maybe even a goalkeeper?!

D: Goalman for 16/17.
